Beauty is beating the message of liberty…and not in a good way.
I got back last week from one of the best events for liberty that exists. It’s called Freedom Fest. And it’s held every year in Las Vegas during July.
I gave a speech titled From Hollywood to Singapore: The Battle Between Beauty and Liberty. And I talked about how people across the globe are seduced by pretty pictures, pretty messages, and how liberals, the Democratic Party, and many in government are masters at creating a Photoshopped message that promises “good” while masking “immorality”.
The Democrats also have much of mainstream media and Hollywood under their thumbs and both of those industries have huge, pretty megaphones to the world. They create “beautiful” messages with their gorgeously produced films, beautiful actors, attractive news sets, and good looking anchor men and women. And people listen. They can’t imagine anyone creating that beauty could be delivering a very harmful and dangerous message.
Hollywood and liberal mainstream news create the reality that they want people to live in. It’s a lie. And it ultimately will hurt the American people. Take the 2008 real estate bubble crash. Mainstream media, Hollywood, and the government were all sidelined by it. Didn’t even know it was coming.
And yet, so many libertarians and classical economists, like Peter Schiff, Mike Maloney, Jim Rogers, they knew it was coming. They talked about it for years before 2008. Few listened. But they prepared because they understood the truth. Facts. Reason. Evidence.
This photoshopped liberal “reality” is dangerous to people and our society because it strips people of the ability to see reality and make the right decisions for themselves and their families.

The government has the ultimate PR team.
A great example would be “The Affordable Care Act.” This immoral law forces people to purchase health insurance whether they want to or not. If you choose not to, the government will fine you and your financial resources will leave your bank account and go towards the pay of government employees or towards some government program where government employees pocket 70% of that, anyway.
The “Affordable” Care Act is also not affordable. There is nothing affordable about it. It forces people to purchase health insurance, driving the cost of health insurance up. It forces health insurance companies to take on anyone with no ability to deny someone coverage, which also drives the costs of insurance up.
Then, because more people have health insurance but there is still the same number of doctors and resources, it overloads the doctors and creates massive waiting lists for everyone.
There is nothing “caring” about Obamacare.
My health insurance in 2011 was $179/month with a $1000 deductible. Today, in 2016, my health insurance is $410/month with a $6,000 deductible. I can barely afford my health insurance.
But people buy into the pretty message because it’s more comfortable. Because it sounds nicer. Because beauty is always attractive to humans.
The true message of beauty.
Liberty for everyone and the prosperity that comes from that kind of living is the most beautiful message. But many times people who fight for freedom do it in a way that makes it seem scary and ugly. They use harsh words and brandish their weapons that seem threatening to others.
That’s one way. But it’s not effective if you’re trying to bring the numbers over to your side.
There is a way to communicate in a beautiful way the truth of freedom, independent living, the liberty to protect yourself in any way possible, and limited government.
You might think, “Who cares? I’m not pussy footing around these sissies. That’s all well and good unless you need more people in your society to understand these principled ideas that once defined America. Which we do. If not, the freest country that ever existed will be no more.
The Freedom Friend uses the measuring stick of freedom to measure if policies, laws, or arguments are right and fair for everyone. Try it. If you believe in something, ask yourself “Is it fair and equal to everyone? Or just to some groups?” If a law or mandated program only helps some and not all, it is not moral. It is not just. It is not freedom.
Our Founding Fathers created a document unlike any other in history. The United States Constitution. It gave American citizens – ALL citizens – protection of their freedoms and natural rights by limiting the power of the government. In all of human history, government has always oppressed the masses. Not companies. Not corporations. But tyrants. Dictators. Monarchs. Autocrats. Royal families. Governments. The people in charge of our laws, money creation, and military. Our goal is to help people recognize politicians’ truths, or hidden agendas, by using the measurement of universal freedom for everyone to make better life decisions.
