A born-and-raised Colorado girl, I descend from heroes whose names you do not know yet. I’m
first generation American, born to parents and grandparents who lived extraordinarily difficult
lives.
My grandfather jumped from a moving train that was taking him and his family to the Majdanek
concentration camp, one of six extermination camps in German-occupied Polish territory during
the Nazi takeover.
